There are a few tickets left for Saturday night dinner.  (We were required to commit to 50 and have had some cancellations.). You're welcome to come and join the fun!  (Pay at the door $25.00)

Friday night: Barney's @ 5:00 pm
Saturday night: Coquit's Farm @ 3:00-9:00 pm, catered dinner 5-7:00 pm (byob, soft drinks and water provided)

DEADLINE FOR SATURDAY DINNER RESERVATIONS IS JULY 29, 2023.

(The caterer requires a headcount by July 29th.)

 

If you have already responded, no need to do so again.  If you haven’t sent a check to Wendy, now is a good time to do so (address below).

Price per person is $25.00.   It will be a buffet style serving with two entrees, several choices of sides and dessert. Make your check out to “The Class of 1968” and send to Wendy Rowand, 536 23rd St., Rock Island, IL 61201.

We will start at around 3 P.M. and it will go until 9 P.M.   Dinner will be served between 5 P.M. and 7 P.M.  You will need to bring your own booze (soft drinks and water provided), and food will be catered.

Hello everyone, it is time again for all of us to get together for yet another class reunion. The dates this year will be August 18th and August 19th.

 

The Friday night event will be just mostly a social gathering at Barney's. We will start to gather there at around 5 P.M. until everyone decides to go home. We will be inviting the class of 1967 and the class of 1969 to join us.

We are trying to keep the price down to try and get as many people as possible to join us.  The price will be $25.00 per person (same as 5 years ago). We have made arrangements to save rooms for those coming from out of town.  Keep in mind that these are not really special rates.  We wanted to save the rooms as long as possible without having the financial responsibility of guaranteeing the rooms. The Best Western on Route 82 has rates as follows: KING, Thursday night is $114.95, Friday/Saturday nights are $135.95.  For QUEENS, Thursday night is $120.95, Friday/Saturday nights are $139.95.  Like I said, no special pricing. If you are making reservations here, tell them it is for the Class of 1968, 55th class reunion. Deadline is August 1st.

 

The Regency Inn on Route 6 has better rates but I think the facility is not quite as nice. These guys are a bit more complicated. I had to make reservations under my name, so, when asking for rooms you must give them my name, Kevin Cherry, for the reservation. They grouped the rates into a three-night stay but you can change it depending on the number of nights you will stay.  KING rate for three nights is $233.88 and the QUEEN rate for three nights is $247.38.  Deadline is August 1st.

RE:  SAVE THE DATE — 55TH REUNION — AUGUST 18 & 19, 2023

 

The Class of 1968 reunion committee is pleased to announce the dates and locations for the 55th reunion.

 

Mark your calendar!  You don’t want to miss this one!

 

We are changing up the traditional formal dinner on Saturday.  Instead, Saturday festivities will take place at Coquit’s Event Venue (it’s just off Wolf Road).  Facilities are top notch (photos to come) with a pond, water slide (for the adventurous type), indoor A/C, covered outdoor area, and room for lawn games.  The tradition of meet and greet on Friday night continues.

 

Friday, August 18:

    - Barney’s Korner Bar and Grill (State Street)

    - 5:00 p.m.

    

Saturday, August 19:

    -Coquit’s Event Venue

    -3:00 p.m. Open for early arrival for those wanting more time to visit.

    -5:00 p.m  Cocktails (This is a BYOB cocktail party due to nature of the venue.)

    -6:00 p.m. Casual dinner.
